Whether you are sending a sample to a client or a gift to a loved one, receiving a broken item is a nightmare. Proper packaging is your first line of defense. Here is how Skypak Express recommends you pack for success.
The Double-Box Method
For extremely fragile items like glass or electronics, one box isn't enough. Place your item in a smaller box with cushioning, and then place that box inside a larger, sturdy shipping carton with at least 2 inches of padding on all sides. This 'floating' technique absorbs shock effectively.
Choosing the Right Materials
Newspaper is not enough. Use bubble wrap for wrapping the item and packing peanuts or air pillows to fill void spaces. The goal is to ensure the item does not shift when you shake the box.
Labeling Matters
Always mark your box as 'Fragile' and 'Handle with Care'. While machines sort many packages, these labels alert human handlers to take extra precautions. At Skypak, we have a special handling process for sensitive shipments to ensure they reach their destination intact.
